"Again" is a song by American rock band Alice in Bondage and the third single and sixth track from their self-titled 1995 album. Information technology peaked at No. 8 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart,[three] and was nominated for the Grammy Laurels for Best Difficult Stone Performance in 1997.[4] The vocal was included on the compilation albums Nothing Safe: Best of the Box (1999), Greatest Hits (2001), and The Essential Alice in Chains (2006). A remixed version of the song was included on the box set Music Bank (1999).

Release and reception [edit]

"Once more" made its radio debut in February 1996,[1] and peaked at No. eight on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in the calendar week of July half dozen, 1996.[3] It also peaked at No. 36 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.[5]

The song was nominated for the Grammy Honor for All-time Hard Stone Performance in 1997.[iv]

In the liner notes of 1999's Music Bank box fix drove, guitarist Jerry Cantrell said of the song:

This guy, Praga Kahn, did 3 different mixes. 1 I didn't like, the second i (Trip hop Mix) had horns and strings without too many guitars or drums, which I kinda liked. Then there was [the "Tattoo of Pain Mix"], which was cool too. We put a couple out equally "B" sides in Europe. Personally, I never got used to the idea that yous had to requite some places extra songs and not others, information technology should exist the same for everybody as far equally I'grand concerned.[6]

Music video [edit]

The music video for "Again" was released in March 1996,[7] and was directed by George Vale.[8]

The music video was nominated for Best Hard Rock Video at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards.[9]

The video is available on the home video release Music Banking company: The Videos, and is the final Alice in Chains music video that Layne Staley filmed with the ring (the "Go Born Again" music video released in 1999 featured simply archived footage of the singer).

Live performances [edit]

"Once more" has been known to be performed with vocalist Layne Staley 5 times. They performed the song for the first on the Boob tube show Saturday Night Special on April 20, 1996,[10] and also for their appearance on the Late Bear witness with David Letterman on May x, 1996.[11] The song was likewise performed during three of the four concerts that Alice in Chains opened for the reunited Kiss in tardily June and early July 1996.[12]

A live functioning of "Again" can exist plant on the alive album Live (2000).[13]

Since reuniting with new vocaliser William DuVall in 2006, "Again" has become a regular part of the band'south setlist.[12]
